Umhlanga Central, Umhlanga

The Pearls of Umhlanga is a distinctive development incorporating luxury residential apartments, an hotel and resort, and a shopping Mall, with stylish retail outlets, a pharmacy, hairdressing, spa's, restaurants, gymnasiums plus clothing and jewellery stores, an art gallery and entertainment. With all five phases already complete -Pearl Breeze, Pearl Dawn, Pearl Breeze, Pearl Tides and Pearl Sky, the Pearls is a trendsetter in style and design in the area, and is situated at the waters' edge at Umhlanga's Main swimming beach.
There is a huge parkade and private garaging and access to the popular Promenade, stretching from Hawaan Forest to beyond the lighthouse and pristine beaches to the South. Locals and visitors alike enjoy exercising or strolling along the 3km Promenade, a paved walkway which is safe and beautiful scenic, overlooking the Ocean, the magnificent Whalebone Pier and Jetty and iconic Landmark Lighthouse. The Lighthouse has a fascinating history - built in 1954 in record time (4 days 19 hours) to replace the Bluff Lighthouse, the tower is 21metres high.
The lighthouse is fully automatic with flashing light and it also has a fixed red light and if ships waiting to anchor can see the red light, it often means that the anchors have dragged, and that the ship is too close to shore. The Umhlanga Lighthouse has never had a keeper and the renowned Oyster Box Hotel, which was built in 1869 as a beach cottage, has always been the official warden of the lighthouse.
Close by at the North end of the Promenade, the Hawaan Forest is a large remnant of a coastal dune forest with trails, and it is the last of its kind here dating back 18,000 years.
The position and the Pearls is ideal, being virtually central in Umhlanga, with the Village on the doorstep. Together with the fabulous setting, the facilities, superb security and excellent management, The Pearls makes sense as a recommended investment choice for individuals and for families wanting either permanent or holiday accommodation.
