The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) is excited to announce the 23rd annual CANSA Shavathon, launching on Saturday, 1 March 2025 at Chatsworth Centre (Shoprite Foyer), from 10.00 until 15.00.
'Fearless Hair to Show You Care' is the theme for this year's event, reminding us of the courage cancer survivors demonstrate on their journey. For more than two decades, Shavathon has grown to become one of the most loved events in South Africa, and rightly so, as the symbolic meaning behind this event is truly beautiful, providing a platform for communities to unite in support of cancer survivors. Losing hair is a common side effect of cancer treatment, and shaving or spraying hair in bright colours has become a powerful symbol of support and awareness.
The event encompasses the true spirit of 'ubuntu' by uniting South Africans from all walks of life to stand together in the fight against cancer and to honour those it affects.
