LE DOMAINE – A SUCCESS STORY FROM START TO FINISH

Wakefields have been the on-site estate agents from Day One at the highly successful Le Domaine Lifestyle Village for the Active Over 50s in Hillcrest. Fifteen years on, and they’ve just sold out and signed off on the very last 12 units of the development.

What makes a successful development? Wakefields can answer that, says Haydn Wakefield, Director and Manager of the Wakefields Le Domaine Sales Office. “We started as the on-site agents in gum boots 15 years ago when Le Domaine was a large tract of land…until today, the very last phase of what is certainly, one of KZN’s most successful Over 50s developments. In many ways, Le Domaine has provided the blueprint for what over 50s residents want, because clearly, with the demand for these freestanding homes and units continuing unabated, it’s a success story in anybody’s language.”

From the launch in 2002 – through each and every phase of the development – the experienced Wakefields’ team has been there, marketing, selling, handing over the keys to the homes, and ensuring that the experience and the home matched the new homeowners’ expectations. A successful development is not simply about the development and developer, it’s about the sales and marketing team behind it…so look for a tried and tested brand, one associated with successful developments throughout the province, and a team of professionals who are there from the launch right through to the final sell-out.

“Le Domaine is not simply a development, and it’s that broader picture which was envisaged when the first home was under construction, that set the stage for its success,” says Wakefield. Le Domaine is a village, a community, with all the elements which Over 50s residents want, need and would love to have. With a range of different sized homes of different configurations available, it offered affordable options for all in beautifully manicured gardens. But importantly, it provided residents with leisure, fitness, beauty, bridge, entertainment, a sociable club house…and of course, health and frail care solutions. Four swimming pools, a gym, bowling green, tennis courts, walkways, a travel agent, hairdresser, and a 86 bed frail care facility…there is nothing that residents lack.

And it’s care-free living. The gardens are maintained, the security is attended to, there’s even a levy stabilisation fund to ensure that levy increases are controlled. “As an investment, Le Domaine has shown excellent returns,” says Wakefield.

For the on-site Wakefields’ estate agents who’ve marketed and sold the over 690 homes and units over a period of 15 years, that’s what a successful development looks like. SOLD OUT.
